Are these real Nixie tubes?
No: NIXEL recreates the look of classic Nixie clocks using LED technology. The numbers are etched onto layers of acrylic that light up, so there is no high voltage, they do not wear out, and you can choose any color you want.
How is it powered?
With the included USB-C cable, connected to any 5 V USB mobile charger or a computer USB port.
Does it lose the time if I unplug it?
No. NIXEL remembers the time and your settings even if the power goes out or you unplug it.
Can I change the colors?
Yes. You have 8 preset colors, 7 display modes, and color adjustment for all tubes at once or for each tube individually. Everything is controlled with the buttons on the base.
Is the light too bright at night?
It has 5 brightness levels, so you can keep it very dim in the bedroom and brighter at your desk.
How big is it?
About 30 cm wide by 10 cm high. It fits on any desk, nightstand, or shelf.
